From the Ukraine, With Love

This weekend I received three handmade crochet hooks from LETTOworkshop out of the Ukraine. They came individually packaged in the beautiful felt pouches pictured above AND a handwritten note. The size is marked on the bottom in millimeters which I love because I haven’t really gotten the hang of the whole alphabetical naming convention. The hooks are a pleasure to handle as the yarn glides, but does not slip, and my heart feels full knowing that I am supporting the work of such skilled and super-nice artisans.

For Valentine’s Day, I tried out a range of heart-shaped patterns. This one is my favorite from Elena Rugal Studio. Watch her tutorial on YouTube.
