Cables

I’ve tried different techniques to get more texture into my crochet work—stitching into the back loop, bubble stitches, various combinations of sc, dc and half dc to mix it up. Cables were really intimidating. Well, not anymore…they are fantastic. I used this “Alpine Cable Blanket” pattern by hollanddesigns on Etsy. I misread the pattern on the first go (the cables are supposed to mirror each other.) But started to get into the groove, literally, on the second project. As a side note, I am obsessed these days with creating color blocks as a design element.
